"Many are Licking the Outside of the Coconut"

Samadhi Master Baba Hariharananda
"Many are licking the outside of the coconut, telling how sweet the fruit tastes, having never actually tasted the fruit inside", a favorite saying of Baba Hariharananda's.
It is a very rare state of spiritual depth and only a few have mastered this state of "Nirvikalpa Samadhi".
My personal opinion is, if someone says or promotes themselves as being "extra-ordinary", and any doubt arises, it is a student's right to see for themselves, if it is true.
Not just to follow anyone blindly, because they speak elegantly or have a large following.
"Your either a "Butterfly or your a Caterpillar".
Either you have that "inner transformation" or you don't.
Unfortunately, there are many "Caterpillar's pretending to be a Butterfly"

When I first met Baba Hariharananda, I felt that the best of India had come to America.
Here was a man who knew everything about self-realization and yoga.
Being in his presence, I felt instant transformation and elevation of consciousness.
I knew from the core of my being, that I had met the most qualified doctor and he had the prescription for what I really needed.
"Baba just tell me what I need to do and I'll do it."
I had full confidence in him, that I didn't need to get a second opinion or go on the internet and research what others were doing.
He knew everything of Kriya Yoga and learned the techniques from highly respected and qualified teachers of Kriya Yoga.
He taught the most effective yoga technique's, Kriya Yoga, which brings about the top result.
"Kriya Yoga is the quickest, surest, easiest path to Self-realization, Self-realization is the God-realization"
"You can get on a boat to India or you can get on the 'Super-sonic' airplane, the Concord plane and arrive at your destination quickly"
Often he would say;
"Kriya Yoga is cash payment , not check, instant results on the day of initiation you will perceive sound, light and vibration, some super human power, which you have never felt before.
"It is fax machine, not postal mail" (this was before email and text messages)
Baba gives some insight into the role of guru in his Kriya Yoga book:
"A guru or Preceptor is indispensable for any spiritual practice".....
"Indian culture puts special emphasis on the guru-disciple relationship.
The would be disciple seeks access to the guru through humility, love and service.
The real guru is one who has attained Self-realization, which means complete mastery over the pulse-less and breath-less state. i.e. samadhi.
Only then is one fit for the role of a guru, not because one speaks elegantly or has a large following .
If a person sincerely seeks enlightenment, God see that he gets a true guru."*
